Mafia AU
The head of the Sohma family mafia, Hatori is the man in charge. While he can wield a gun, he often doesn’t have to with his family serving as his protectors. The Sohma mafia has their hands in lots of different pies, they explore multiple business endeavors. Hatori, or “Ares,” as he is also known by (a code name), has a penchant for liquor, cocaine, and his girlfriend, Aphrodite. He’s moody, and constantly feels like his manhood is being threatened. Though irrational in his personal life, he is an adequate leader and usually well respected among the rest of the family.
Sugar Daddy AU
Being a wealthy family doctor with an impressive bank account, Hatori has found that he enjoys spoiling the people he cares about. Those people? A teenage boy obsessed with Power Rangers, a charmingly attractive snake, and even on occasion a goddess who makes her own money, yet still decided to steal his instead. He enjoys buying things for his sugar babies, but they have to earn it.
Stripper AU
Working at ‘The Dog and Pony Show,’ a local strip club in Japan, Hatori is known by his stage name ‘Seawhore.’ He has a penchant for dancing to Lady Gaga music and despises being touched by customers. He also hates giving private lap dances, but will provide them for a good price. Hatori is a top earner in the club, only rivaled by ‘Subwoofer’ (Shigure). He often strips down completely during his dances and has a chain connecting both of his nipple piercings, wrapping around his waist, and connecting down to his Prince Albert piercing. Yanking or pulling on the chain will result in him throwing a massive tantrum on stage, or off.
Angel AU
Hatori is a fallen angel, cast out for questioning God. Falling from Heaven, his exquisite wings prove to be useless as he tumbles down into the pits of purgatory, sent there to suffer for all eternity. His halo shatters, and as the tips of his pure white wings begin to twinge grey, he meets a demon looking to take him under his wing and show him the way down the path of madness.
Karneval AU
Hatori works closely under Akari at the Research Tower. He has little to no contact with various members of CIRCUS; he spend most of his time as a lab rat exploring the various qualities of Varuga blood samples. Hatori is almost verbatim to his canon verse- he is particularly anti-social and doesn’t like to be disturbed from his work. He lives in a nearby apartment on CIRCUS property with his partner.
Black Butler AU
(Reaper AU) Working under William T. Spears, Hatori is a reaper who admires William to a fault. He hates demons with a fiery passion and will not respond kindly to them. Following Mr. Spears’ lead, Hatori is finicky about over-time and will try to spare people when he can. Hatori’s morals are very strong, and he stands next to them firmly. He often works alone, and doesn’t have much interactions with reapers outside of William T. Spears, and occasionally Grell.
(Demon AU) In his realm, the demon Hatori spent his time being a healer of sorts, as that was what category of demon he fell into. Specializing in nursing his fellow devils back to health after reaper attacks- or worse, attacks from other rouge demons, Hatori soon visits the Earth realm and opens a medical practice. Feigning botched operations, he feeds on souls this way, informing the families ever so often that the patient didn’t make it. Otherwise, when not feeding, he is an adequate doctor and finds human bodies to be incredibly delicate and weak. He is seemingly cold and reserved, yet kind, but his masks slips often as he still not accustomed to this realm, and will kill upon being figure out. He is a healer, but he will not serve anyone- especially no human.
American Horror Story (Season 3) AU:
Hatori works as a witch hunter under Delphi Corporation. He is tentative when it comes to killing, however, his father forced him to carry on the family legacy. He is highly regarded among his peers for his sheer hunting/stalking abilities, but when it comes to murder, he’s been known to hesitate. His mother was killed by a stray witch during a home invasion, and this serves as the fuel for his murderous endeavors.
Neon Genesis AU:
(Bio-Engineer AU) Hatori attended Kyoto University and studied under Kozo Fuyutsuki along side Yui Ikari. Hatori became one of the leading metaphysical biologists in his field, with a minor in bio-engineering. While working with her, Hatori fell in love with Yui, but lost her to Gendo. Not long after Yui and Gendo had their first child together, the Second Impact happened and then Yui was suddenly gone. Over a decade later, Hatori has regressed into a hermit that is still madly in love with Yui, and mourns her daily. He has an on again, and off again relationship with Fuyutsuki- they meet for lunch every now and then. After losing Yui and learning that her child is now a part of NERV, he has an obsession with learning more about the organization. His lunch meetings with Kozo are always more or less just Hatori pressing for more information obsessively, but Fuyutsuki remains tight-lipped due to a contracted silence. He is a recluse, loner scientist who often doesn’t leave the house.
(MAGI Technician AU) Hatori is a fresh face to the organization NERV, and after his impressive performance, Gendo offers Hatori the position of being a technician for one of the MAGI computers. He works directly under Ritsuko Akagi, and while he is terrified of her, he is also very familiar with her work and he admires everything she does. After she took him under her wing and manipulated him to her own whim, he suddenly became involved romantically with the chief scientist, not realizing that he was falling prey to game of jealousy that she is playing with Gendo Ikari… His feelings for her are real, and his intentions are pure.
Fullmetal Alchemist AU
Hatori is a transfer doctor from a hospital in the Xing kingdom, currently working in a hospice near Central City. While he is interested in alchemy, he himself cannot wield it, and he is very interested in learning more about automail and the detailed schematics of alchemy. He works closely with King Bradley, and often makes house calls for the Fuhrer and his son, Selim. However, he is not aware that either are homunculi.
Hellsing AU
Hatori works as a reporter for a local newspaper, hellbent on discovering the secrets behind the Millennium Organization, and the Nazi zombie incidences that occurred thereafter. This takes place about a decade after the fact, and he working on an expose to reveal any and all hidden information on the indent. He is interested in speaking with anyone who may have info on such matters. While he working on a story for the newspaper, he is also working on a tell-all written by him that he hopes will one day sell nicely and make quite a bit of money.
Free! AU
Hatori Sohma turns to working at a local high school once the family moves on and no longer requires an on-site doctor for all their needs. He takes a job at Iwatobi High School, becoming the head nurse. He seems to be not particularly well-liked by the students due to his standoffish nature, but any time any one shows up to his office, he is always more than willing to help heal them in any way he can. Hatori’s most frequent visitors are members of the school’s various sports teams.
Katawa Shoujo AU
Hatori Sohma turns to working at a local high school once the family moves on and no longer requires an on-site doctor for all their needs. He takes a job at Yamaku High School, a school for children with varying different disabilities, becoming a nurse. As per usual, Hatori is very uncomfortable in the child-filled environment, though he thankfully doesn’t get too many visitors, considering the entire school is filled with nurses of all kinds on call. One day, a particularly interesting young girl wanders into his office during a panic attack, and he realizes they have more in common than one would think.
Death Note AU
Hatori Sohma is a member of NPA- National Police Agency. He isn’t particularly high up on the totem pole, but he enjoys working as an underling for Soichiro Yagami. He is a detective for the Japanese Police Force, and doesn’t particularly get along with his co-workers. He keeps to himself and observes quietly, waiting for his big break in a case to help him finally stand out. He, of course, desires to one day become lead detective- or better, take Chief Yagami’s spot, but until then he is fine being used as a pawn for them.
